The family and descendants of
Samuel May [1783-1851]

Samuel May died in California on February 27, 1851.
His grave was destroyed by other gold miners near Placerville in Eldorado County.
Our last record of him was recorded December 17, 1850
in the 1850 US census of California.

Years later his son, Col. Andrew Jackson May, recalled
the story of Samuel's death.

We have no photos or portraits of Samuel.
