Many
members of the May family gathered in April of 1930 in Floyd
County at Alphoretta - located at the forks of Beaver Creek -
to celebrate the 58th birthday of Arzilla Pratt May. She was
the wife of Beverly Lewis Clarke May and - since she died the
following year - quite possibly was ill at the time of the gathering.
A partial list of attendees at "One of the largest and
most pleasant social gathering ever held in this section"
includes friends and relatives from Alphoretta, Waco (sic. Warco),
Prestonsburg, Allen, Martin, Langley and Paintsville.
