Parging Upstairs Bedroom
This photo shows the north wall of the upstairs north bedroom just after it was parged. The two-by -four studs, which have been laid flat against the wall, will serve as anchors for the drywall. They have been attached to floor and ceiling beams. Also visible in the photo is a switchbox. During the restoration the house was completely rewired for electricity. Heating and and air-conditioning systems were also installed. The mantel shown here is one of five hand-carved mantels in the house. They were probably purchased from craftsmen in Louisville or Cincinnati and shipped up the river on a flatboat.
