Front Facade, April 1997
This photo shows the front facade of the May House as it looked in April, 1997. The Bearcat Loader at the north corner of the house was Jack Kauble`s favorite toy. He used it for a wide variety of tasks. These included landscaping. Although the contract didn`t require it, Jack landscaped the land around the house, raising the level of the earth to cover the lower part of the foundation. The two-story part of the house sits on sandstone blocks. In other words, it doesn`t have a modern, poured-concrete foundation. For that reason, it was important to raise the ground level around the house.
