| This photo shows the front facade of the May House in January, 1997. The porch has just been completed and is in the process of being painted. Old floor boards have been piled in front of the house. During the period when his crew was restoring the house, Jack Kauble and his wife Susie lived in a trailer on Riverside Drive in Prestonsburg. Barry and Miller stayed with them during the week and commuted to Ohio on the weekends. The old oak floor beams which were removed from the downstairs part of the house are now in the possession of Terry Ratliff, the well-known Floyd County chair-maker and woodcraftsman. |
