William Conner House
This is a photo of the William Conner House, centerpiece of Conner Prairie, a living history museum six miles north of Indianapolis, Indiana. Built in 1823, the Conner House has the same style and floor plan as the May House. Originally the home of William Conner, Indian Agent to the Shawnees during the days when Indiana was still a territory, the Conner House predates the founding of Indianapolis. Today it is the center of a living history village. Wealthy industrialist Eli Lilly began restoring the house in 1934. A second restoration was done in 1992 at a cost of two million dollars. Friends Perry, Lineberger, Howard and Baldridge toured the house in the Summer of 1995.
