| Here we see some Confederate re-enactors relaxing by the May House after their drill. This event occurred on Saturday, August 23rd, 1997. The day was a spectacular one, weather-wise. Skies were blue and no clouds were visible. One of the strongest supporters of the May House Project is John B. Wells III, Commander of Captain William Green Wells Camp #1767, SCV, Boonscamp, Kentucky. John is the owner and operator of Big Sandy Hardware at Hager Hill, Kentucky. John is the co-author of The Yankee Chasers, a book about Colonel Jack May`s 10th Kentucky Cavalry. It was published by Gateway Press of Baltimore, Maryland in 1996.
