| This photo shows re-enactors of the 5th Kentucky Infantry, C. S. A., drilling in the field in front of the May House. It was taken on Saturday, August 23rd, 1997, during the weekend of the re-enactment of the Battle of Middle Creek. The day was a sunny one, and the soldiers looked terrific in their uniforms. The drill was sponsored by the General Humphrey Marshall Camp #1429 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Paintsville, Kentucky. Don Johnson, Owen Wright, David Hereford, John B. Wells III, and the other members of this camp have been strong supporters of the May House project since its inception in 1992. We have also been helped by the Order of the Confederate Rose. |
