of Trustees June 26, 2007 A special meeting of the Friends of the Samuel May House, Inc. was held on June 26, 2007 at 7:00 P. M. Present: Samuel D. Hatcher, Garnett Fairchild, Delmas Saunders, present by proxy: Patricia Johnson, Tom Matijasic and Sabra Jacobs. Including the proxy votes a quorum was present. The purpose of the meeting was to consider an offer from Turner Publishing to purchase the remaining 45 copies of the 1992 Floyd County History Book at a price of $25 each (regular wholesale price is $38.95). The total cost would be $1,125 plus shipping. The offer was we had to purchase all of the books in order to get the $25 price. Those present discussed the offer. President Hatcher indicated to those in attendance the opinion of two of the Trustees voting by proxy felt that the purchase of all the books would tie up our funds for too long. Two of the Trustees who voted by proxy indicated that they felt we should purchase only 10 books. Upon discussion a vote was taken whether to purchase all 45 books, motion by Garnett Fairchild, second by Delmas Saunders. Motion was passed by a vote of 3 – 2.
