Prestonsburg, Kentucky 41653

March 28, 2006

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

* Final approval of these minutes will be made at the 2007 Annual Membership Meeting *

Those present: Tom Matijasic, Sabra Jacobs, Garnett Fairchild, William L. May, Don R. Johnson and Patricia A. Johnson.

In the absence of the President, Garnett Fairchild, Vice-President, called the meeting to order at approximately 7:05 PM. She stated that the Minutes from last year's meeting had been mailed to everyone and copies were also available for everyone present. She asked for comments. There being none, she stated the Minutes would stand approved as presented.

Although David Hereford was absent, he had sent a letter to all Board members regarding our balance which at this time was $1,480.03. Mr. Hereford stated with keeping the House opened on the week ends, we were rapidly depleting our funds and that should an emergency arise, we would be in the red. He recommended that the tours cease immediately and not start up again until summer. He also suggested that we advertise for volunteers so we would not have any labor costs.

Following a discussion, Sabra Jacobs made a motion to cease the tours and look for volunteers. Motion was seconded by William L. May. Motion carried.

Discussion then turned to the number of Trustees for the Board for the coming year. Don Johnson made a motion that the number remain at nineteen (19); and, that all present members be contacted to make sure they wanted to remain as Trustees. Sabra Jacobs seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Therefore, the Trustees for the Samuel May House for 2006 are: Lillian Baldridge, Mable Lineberger, Tom Matijasic, Marshall Davidson, Alice Howard-Perry, Sabra Jacobs, Don R. Johnson, Marrs Allen May, William L. May, Gary May, John Rosenberg, Delmas Saunders, Jim Spencer, Sam D. Hatcher, Garnett Fairchild, David Hereford and Patricia A. Johnson. Also, Honorary Members, who are now deceased, include William H. May, Dr. Robert Perry; and, E. B. May, Jr.

Next was the election of the President and Secretary. Patricia Johnson informed the group that Sam Hatcher had told her he would be happy to take another term as President, if they so desired. There being no other nominations, Mrs. Fairchild instructed the secretary to cast one vote for Mr. Hatcher for President.

Nominations were then taken for Secretary. Sabra Jacobs made a motion to elect Patricia A. Johnson to another term as Secretary; Tom Matijasic seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. There being no other nominations, Mrs. Fairchild instructed the secretary to cast one vote for Patricia A. Johnson as Secretary.

There being no further business of the Membership meeting, it was adjourned at approximately 7:45 so the regular monthly meeting could begin.

Respectfully submitted:

Patricia A. Johnson, Secretary
