Minutes of the Board of Trustees
Prestonsburg, Kentucky 41653

May 24, 2005

Present: Delmas Saunders, Marshall Davidson, Thomas D. Matjasic, Sabra Jacobs, Garnett Fairchild, Mable Lineberger, Sam D. Hatcher, and John Rosenberg.

A quorum being present President Hatcher called the meeting to order at 7:00 P. M.

In the absence of the Secretary, Patricia Johnson, Mr. Hatcher indicated that he would keep the minutes. The minutes to the previous meeting in April having been either emailed or mailed to all trustees, was approved as presented.

In the absence of the Treasurer, David Hereford, Mr. Hatcher presented the treasurer's report that Mr. Hereford had sent. The report indicated a current balance of $2,652.67 in the general fund and $705.84 in the Archives fund. Mr. Hatcher reported that there were no unusual expenditures since the previous meeting. The report was accepted as presented.

OLD BUSINESS

Discussion of the Photo Fair that was held in May. It was the consensus that it should have been promoted more. It was reported that the Floyd County Times did announce it, but a week after it had occurred. Next year promotion should start well before the date. Other ideas about better promotion was discussed.

It was reported that the house had been sprayed for fleas. Mr. Hatcher reported that he believed that cats were getting under the floor causing the fleas. Ms Lineberger reported on a powder that could be purchased at Wal Mart that would discourage the cats from getting under the house.

Discussion of various ideas for staffing the house. Mr. Matjasic indicated that he has had some discussion with the person in charge of the extended training program about the use of a work study person to work at the house.

Also, discussed various options to obtain an intern or student to work at the house.

No other business the meeting was adjourned.
