Minutes of the Board of Trustees Prestonsburg, Kentucky 41653 Special Called Meeting December 14, 2003 Those present: Don R. Johnson, Patricia A. Johnson, Sam D. Hatcher, Sabra Jacobs, Jim Spencer, Garnett Fairchild, and Alice Howard. Mr. Hatcher stated that the reason for the Special Called meeting was to decide what the Board wanted to do in regard to the reprinting of John B. Wells, III and Jim Prichard's book, The Yankee Chasers. Gateway Press, the Company that printed the book is offering us a special deal; however, the offer ends on December 31st, 2003 thus the urgency for the meeting. If we purchase books and ask for it to be reprinted by December 31st we will get $200.00 off the total cost. Don had contacted John and he said that previously the book had sold for $21.95; however, he suggested that we sale the book for $29.95. John and Jim will split the profits with the May House on a 50 - 50 basis. Following a lengthy discussion, Don Johnson made a motion to table the item until the March meeting of the Trustees when through dues being collected, donations, tours, etc. we would have more funds in our treasury. Jim Spencer seconded. Motion carried. Right now, with some repairs needed to be done on the House and our monthly expenses, the Board did not feel it wise to let our monies become so low. Mr. Hatcher will notify Gateway Press of our decision. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
