They were living in Prestonsburg, where he was a 30 year old carpenter with property worth $600. There are records of William purchasing four parcels of land in Vernon Co., WI in 1855 and another parcel in 1859. The cemetery where he and Charlotte are buried was located by descendants, Don and Sally Giles, and they got the dates of their birth and death dates from the gravestone.
