| The Nahe River takes a short turn to the north
as it flows past Niederhausen an der Nahe. Today there is a dam
at the village and a small lake, Niederhauser Stausee,
is a water park in the summer and a skating area in the winter.
The river continues past Norheim and Bad Munster on its way to
the Rhine. The Alsenz River flows into the Nahe from the south
at Ebernburg. On the plateau above Niederhausen sets the village
of Hüffelsheim, the home of our immigrant "grandmother,"
Maria Catharina Graeff Meÿ. |
