| This is how the May House looked in April, 1997, several days after the restoration was finished. It was a long, uphill fight, but Jack Kauble finally got the job done. Congratulations, Jack. Congratulations, Ben. Congratulations, John. Congratulations, too, to Mayor Jerry Fannin, Roger Rectenwald of the Big Sandy ADD, Architect Joe Argabrite, E. B. May, Jr. and William H. May, David Morgan of the Kentucky Heritage Council, and Representative Greg Stumbo. Without the generosity of E. B. May, Jr. and his brother William, this project couldn`t have been done.
