| This photo shows President Jefferson Davis chatting with Ellis Buchanan in front of the May House. Following the drill by the men of the 5th Kentucky Infantry, C.S.A., Davis addressed the crowd from the May House balcony. The lady stepping onto the porch is Varina Davis, the President`s charming wife. The Friends of the Samuel May House greatly enjoyed chatting with Mr. and Mrs. Davis, and we hope that they will pay us another visit in the near future. This particular re-enactment was sponsored by the Kentucky Historical Society and its educational arm, the Historic Confederation of Kentucky.
