JOHN MAY HISTORICAL MARKER Marker to be dedicated on May 14, 2011 The following slildes were presented at the 2010 May Family Reunion regarding a historical marker to be placed in honor of Revloutionary Soldier, John May. This project was first suggested by Shelby Valley Historical Society [SVHS]. By the end of October, funds had been raised by donations from 22 descendants of John May to Friends of the Samuel May House to cover half of the $2300 cost of the marker, matching the other half donated by SVHS. The funds will be sent to the Kentucky Historical Society after final approval of the marker. An additional $200 raised for the marker was donated to Friends of the Samuel May House, Inc., as agreed during the reunion..
