DAR Marker for Revolutionary Soldier John May March, 1982 New gravestone placed in 2003 The Pikeville Chapter of D.A.R. placed a large bronze marker at the grave of John May, Revolutionary War soldier. Taking part in the D.A.R. ritual were members, June Corbin Fields, Mrs. Bob (Betty) Hurt, Regent, Mrs. Susan (Jill) Whitt, Vice Regent, Mrs. W.O. (Betty)_ Allen, Treasurer. Also present was Eldon Jack May, great-great-great grandson of John May.
