ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING

Those present: Don R. Johnson, Lillian Baldridge, Garnett Fairchild, Frank Fitzpatrick, Sam D. Hatcher, Marshall Davidson, Dorothy L. Harris, Jean H. Burke, Drema Osborne, and Jim Spencer.

Mr. Sam Hatcher called the annual membership meeting to order at approximately 7:00 PM.

In the absence of David Hereford, Mr. Hatcher reported there was $1,719.97 in the general fund. He stated that Don and Patricia A. Johnson had helped prepare the dues' notices and had included a letter asking for a donation toward the republishing of The Yankee Chasers, a book written by John B. Wells, III and Jim Prichard. There had been a total of 310 letters mailed. As of this date, a total of $2,260.00 had been received with $760.00 ear-marked for the publication. He stated that we should have a better idea at the April meeting of the exact amounts.

He gave the floor to Mr. Frank Fitzpatrick who was there to let the group know that markers for the May House and for the walking trail at Prestonsburg Community College had been purchased and that they would be ready to erect in the near future. He asked if the Board would be interested in taking part in the ceremonies dedicating the markers. The Board stated that they would be happy to be a part of the dedication and for him to just let them know the details in time to let everyone know and those of us who could, would be there.

Discussion then turned to the number of Trustees that we wanted to keep on the Board. After a brief discussion, Don Johnson made a motion that the trustees be kept to nineteen (19); seconded by Jim Spencer. Motion carried. The Board of Trustees include the following individuals: Lillian Baldridge, Marshall Davidson, Alice Howard-Perry, Sabra Jacobs, Don R. Johnson, Marrs Allen May, William L. May; and Dr. Robert Perry. Also, E. B. May, Jr. is a Honorary Member.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at approximately 7:45 PM, with the regular monthly meeting to follow.

Respectfully submitted by:
