Dorcas and her family lived in Pike Co, KY as late as the 1870 census. They moved to Harrisonville, MO —probably between 1870 & 1880— to live near the families of her brother, William Harvey May, and sister, Sarah Ann May Adkins. She and her husband are listed in the 1900 census of Cass Co. MO. In 1910, at the age of 83, she is listed as the head of a household in Larimer County near Fort Collins, Colorado. Dorcas' husband probably died between 1900 and 1910 and perhaps one or more of her children had moved their family to Colorado. We also know from other records that Dorcas was living in Colorado in 1914 when her sister Sarah May Adkins died in Harrisonville, Missouri.
