70th wedding anniversary.
From a local newspaper article in 1937
we know the following:
David and Martha celeberated their 70th
wedding anniversary at their country home on Lexington road, two
miles north of Nicholasville, KY. A retired minister of the Methodist
Church, he and his wife moved to the Nicholasville area about 1919.
All of their living children attended the celebration: Frank May of
Harrodsburg, KY, Mamie May Allen of Harrison Co., KY, E. L. May of
Nicholasville [who was living with his parents], Earl May of Harrison
Co., and Ida May Shropshire of Bourbon, Co., KY. At the time they had
16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Among the 45 guests was
John Dennison of Cynthiana, whom they had reared.
