Leonard May, son of Johann Nickel Meÿ, was born in Niederhausen an der Nahe in the Rheinland Palatinate in 1719 and died before April 1777. When his brother, Daniel, wrote a will in April 1777 in Berkeley County, Virginia, he referred to Leonard's son Daniel as "the lawfully begotten Heir of the Body of my brother Leonard May." Leonard probably had been residing in nearby Loudoun County, Virginia at the time of his death.
